Recipe: Alabama White Sauce
Living in the South, everyone has their own version of BBQ sauce (and they think it’s the best). For a quick dinner some nights, we throw some chicken or pork into the Instant Pot and then shred it for sandwiches. Instead of a traditional sweet, tomato-based BBQ sauce, we really love making this white cream based sauce instead.
Ingredients
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons sugar
Add all the ingredients to a small mixing bowl and blend together until smooth. For garlic and paprika start with 1/4 teaspoon and then add more a shake or 2 at a time until you like the flavor.
Serve with your favorite entrée. It goes great with poultry or pork.
