When I first started homeschooling, I looked for something that was easy to use, interactive and student driven. My search led me to Time4Learning. I started using this curriculum in the kindergarten level. It starts with an introduction to letter sounds and progresses into phonics. For math it starts with number concepts such as greater and fewer and then goes into counting and adding.

This program is available online for grades PreK - 8 for $20 a month for the first student. Subjects include reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies. I have enjoyed using this program since it allows the students to do units on their own with only help needed when they are stuck on problems. It covers a wide range of topics inside each subject. In addition to the online material, there are also experiment lists and printable worksheets.

For grades K - 2, I used it as a freestanding program with only some unit studies or activities on the side. Once we entered 3rd grade, I started adding supplemental materials. The one subject that has needed the most supplemental work in math. While Time4Learning covers all of the needed material well, there is not enough repetition for the student to master math facts e.g. addition, multiplication facts. They do offer printables for some of the concepts.

For multiple children, it has been great since it would be difficult to teach every child every subject. With Time4Learning, I can allow one child to work independently online while I give my attention to the other for additional studies.

Update 2020: We really like this option for K - 3ish for most subjects. However, some subjects required a lot of reading which became boring for being online. For reading, we like real books. We also used it again for high school Biology as well as electives such as personal finance and health/wellness. We will continue to use it as needed for each student.
